EUGENE, Ore. — For the first time this season, West Seattle Junction FC was held scoreless through 90 minutes, as their recent struggles continued with a 2-0 loss on the road against Lane United FC. Junction, now winless in their last four games, will look to turn their season around with a win on Wednesday, June 11th as they remain on the road for a matchup against Midlakes United.
The visitors had opportunities to break the deadlock early in the first half, with a chance for Alex Mejia coming in the 12th minute after the forward got on the end of a delicately placed pass from Ricki Kobayashi, but was unable to guide his shot past Will Ficek in goal for the Reds. Junction did well to keep up the pressure, with another opportunity saved by Ficek just eight minutes later, as the goalkeeper stuck a leg out to deny forward Marcos Bravo.

The tide of the contest began to shift in the favor of the hosts as the first half wore on, with Lane nearly breaking the deadlock in the final minutes of the period. Despite the late pressure, Junction was able to hold on to the 0-0 scoreline heading into the halftime interval.
The hosts started the second half as they ended the first, which eventually led to their first goal of the night after defender David Pepple committed a foul in the box in the 54th minute, which resulted in a goal from Bautista Rossi Molinas.

The Blues were unable to find an equalizer as the second half continued, with their situation going from bad to worse in the 69th minute after Rossi Molinas doubled his tally for the day by pouncing on a misplaced back pass from Rex Karjian to have an open shot on goal.
Despite the two goal deficit, Junction continued to look for a way back into the contest, with the Blues nearly pulling one back in the 74th minute after Leon Tezuka found his way into the opposition’s box on the back of a pass from Bravo, but was unable to place his shot into the back of the net. The visitors again came close to scoring in the final minutes of regulation, with defender Jake Larson guiding his headed attempt just past the post in the 89th minute.
Thursday’s loss saw Junction FC drop to 0-3-1 on the year, with the halfway point in the season just around the corner. Tickets for next Wednesday evening’s matchup against Midlakes United can be purchased online HERE.
