SEATTLE, Wash. – After thoughtful consideration, West Seattle Junction FC has decided to move in a new direction in regards to its Head Coach role. The club thanks Head Coach Erik Oman and his staff for their excellent leadership and guidance over the past two years, and wish them nothing but the best in their future endeavors.
Coach Oman played an important role in guiding the club through its first two years in the Northwest Division of USL League Two. The club, and the SW Thistle Street faithful, are grateful for his dedication and professionalism that he brought to the pitch each and every day.
A regional search for the next Head Coach is in progress, with a formal announcement to be released in the coming weeks.
Oman led the Blues to a record of 8-11-9 over his two seasons with the club, which was highlighted by a four-game winning streak to cap off the 2025 campaign with wins against FC Olympia, Bigfoot FC, Snohomish United, and cross-town rivals Midlakes United.
Despite falling short in his pursuit of a post-season playoff appearance in either of his two years with the club, Oman’s leadership and love for the game is undeniable. “Coach Erik was a great leader and role model to have in charge of the club for its first two seasons, and I’m glad that I was able to be a part of it with him,” shared Jake Larson, who served as West Seattle Junction FC’s co-captain in 2024 and 2025. “He is very personable and built connections with each of the players. He really cared, not only about the club, but also about the experience the players got, and the players who got to learn from him are grateful for that. I appreciate everything he did in his time at the club, and I wish him the best of luck with whatever is next!”
