SEATTLE, Wash. — A new era is beginning in West Seattle. After weeks of preparation and fresh off a convincing preseason win against local UPSL side Cultures United FC, West Seattle Junction FC is ready to kickoff the 2024 USL League Two season at home this weekend against CFC Atletico. The Salem, Oregon-based team are three-time USL League 2 NW Division Champions and will be the first test of the season for the new boys from the West Side. With the full squad together and weeks of training under their belts, the team is ready to hit the ground running.
This weekend’s home matchup at Nino Cantu Southwest Athletic Complex will be the first of three home games, before the squad has a stint of five games on the road. “West Seattle is a great community, and there’s a great soccer culture here,” said Head Coach Erik Oman when asked about the role that the West Seattle community will play in supporting the team throughout the season. “We’re excited to get the guys on the pitch together, and hopefully inspire the next generation of young soccer players while putting on a great product for our fans.”
