After a massive comeback win on the road against Lane United and with momentum visibility shifted after a few unfortunate results, West Seattle Junction FC is firing on all cylinders heading into the second half of the 2024 USL League 2 season. With just seven games left to play, including a three-game stint at home to end the season, there’s still everything to play for, with hopes of making the playoffs on the horizon.
Tuesday night’s comeback win was exactly what Head Coach Oman wanted to see from his team after having suffered three defeats in their last three games. “This team is special. Even after conceding early in the match, their effort never faltered, and they showed exactly what they are capable of,” said Oman, who was full of praise for the team and their efforts. “We were missing some guys tonight through injury, but everyone stepped up and played their part. We’re going into the second half of this season with a chip on our shoulder, and these guys are ready to battle it out in each of our remaining games.”
Junction FC’s upcoming match is a highly anticipated one, as they’ll take on Midlakes United, who are also in their first year as a USL 2 club. The Bellevue-based club are heading into Friday’s matchup on the back of a 0-1 loss on the road to United PDX, but fans can expect to see a tightly contested match when they meet Junction FC for the first time. With the clubs only separated by Lake Washington and a potential rivalry brewing, Junction FC is preparing to walk away with all three points and continue their win streak. Friday’s game will kickoff at 7:00pm at Bellevue College, with tickets being available for purchase online.
