INTERESTED IN HOSTING A JUNCTION FC PLAYER FOR THE 2024 SEASON?
West Seattle Soccer Enthusiasts and Supporters –
As you know, this year, local soccer enthusiasts launched the first-ever West Seattle USL League Two men’s soccer team, West Seattle Junction FC. USL League Two is an pre-professional soccer league which serves as a development platform for young players who aspire to play professionally. Most players in the USL League Two are collegiate soccer players who must maintain their amateur status while they continue to develop outside their collegiate competitive season. Players in the league are usually between the ages of 18-23 and are a mix of local, international, or out-of-state talent. We are grateful for the optimism, feedback and support we have received from the community as we look forward to our second season. We are dedicated to providing opportunities for these amateur athletes to pursue their passion for soccer and to create an environment where our players can focus on their training and performance with comfortable housing.
In the spirit of community engagement, West Seattle Junction FC is reaching out to our vibrant community for assistance in identifying and acquiring volunteers who are willing to open their homes to provide temporary housing for each of the out-of-state players who are on our roster for the season. The time period for temporary housing is May-July 2025. By offering a comfortable and supportive living space, homestay families play a crucial role in helping our athletes thrive both on and off the field.
Hosting a player involves providing a private room and access to essential amenities such as bathroom facilities and kitchen privileges. Volunteers are not expected to cover any additional expenses beyond normal household utilities, nor provide transportation to team related activities. All players are SafeSport cleared which requires a background check.
Your generosity in opening your home to our players will not only support our team but also foster a sense of camaraderie and community spirit. It’s a chance to make a meaningful difference in the lives of these dedicated athletes and contribute to the vibrancy of our local soccer scene.
If you are interested in becoming a host or would like more information about the program, please complete the survey at the top of this page or contact Cory Hinthorn at cory@wsjunctionfc.club. We are happy to answer any questions you may have and provide further details about the hosting process.
